how do you tell a religious parent that you're over Christianity? I just don't believe what it stands for anymore. I was forced into a private Christian high school and I just don't buy anything I've learned.

I mean, okay, sure, some of it's buy able, some of it's okay, but I'm so sick of getting the same answer when I ask for advice from my mom or a Christian. "just pray about it." or "god will take care of it"

except I don't want to pray about it and god's not taking care of it. growing up in a Christian school and home, it was pretty much hammered into me that things like drinking, homosexuality, cursing, sex before marriage, etc were wrong.

and I just don't believe that anymore. while I'm not personally gay, I have gay friends and I don't see the bad in it. love is love, right? and cursing, what's the big deal? they're words. drinking can get out of control, sure, but if you're with friends and you're having a good time and you're not making a horrible habit out of it, I don't see it as wrong. and I think sex is a big deal, I do, but to say no sex before marriage is extreme. look at all of the failed marriages, look at the marriages of people who don't even love each other. marriage is many times fabricated these days and I honestly don't even know if I want to be married. does that mean I can't find someone I truly love and want to spend the rest of my life with? I don't think so.

I've tried to vaguely tell my mom that god just wasn't my thing, but she says things like, "don't let the enemy take over your life." what the fuck, is she seriously with this shit?

furthermore, I don't understand those people who say they believe in god and the bible yet they blatantly support things that are considered wrong in the bible. pick a side guys.

end of my ramble. haha. thoughts?
